Sorry for the long delay in response. For me, there wasn’t any difference in price. My first son was born in the hospital and after insurance coverage I still ended up paying a good bit of money. There was also the OB office visits. With my homebirth, there was only one person to pay – the midwife. They were within a couple of hundred dollars or so I believe. Hope this helps.

It is technically not legal here to have a homebirth with a CPM in attendance (like mine). There is pending legislation so maybe it will get legalized soon. Are you sure there aren’t any Certified Nurse Midwives that would attend a homebirth? You might be surprised.

It was intense at times but never ‘painful’. The intense times were only when I wasn’t focusing and breathing properly. I just spent my time concentrating on relaxing, breathing and moving around. That is it!
