    wonderful video!! …
wonderful video!! the only thing that bothered me was the comment made by the doula. I’m dominican and i have african descent. I understand what you meant about all we see is caucasian families giving birth naturally. But every OTHER ethinicity do it too, we just dont see it. Either way its being done..the comment was unecessary and completely out of line. But to each its own.

    I understand how …
I understand how some may be caught off guard by the black/white comment. But I am 31 weeks pregnant and have been planning a natural, home birth since before conception. And like the rest of us we look for videos, books, whatever to “see” what it’s like and share in the moment of birth with moms who’ve done it. And unless you all know something i don’t, the MAJORITY of all footage and media on the topic are of white women. I felt relief when I found black families’ videos finally.

    The video was …
The video was interesting and pretty good, but the black and white comment was very disappointing and not necessary at all. We are all women and we all give birth. And since the beginning of time we basically all have been doing it the same way. Skin color is nothing because we are all the same underneath. I may not be black, but a majority of my family are and to me they are just people, just like me and just like you.

    thats where …
thats where segregation begins… when u use the term ‘white people’…. i started watching this video very interested… and got to the statement… and was totally uninterested… made me as a white woman about to deliver… feel unwelcome… regardless of your experiences with our race… you have had no experience with me as a person… think before you speak… i would never use the term ‘black people” to make a valid point about my race… im better than that

    I don’t understand …
I don’t understand why she needed to make a distinction between herself and white people. Who ever said only white people give birth with doulas? A lot of this prejudice and separation is all in their heads.

The woman who said “its not just white people doing this, we all can” was exactly right. Strong, natural, WOMAN no matter the color. Your baby is beautiful and wow she looks so much like mom I think. Congrats to the new parents and I love her beautiful name and the homage you pay to your ancestry. Awesome Job!!
