It’s not the kid may end up motherless, it’s that the mother sounds like a “I wanna have it all!” selfish person. A single “sucessful career woman” — what? She was too busy to learn how develop a long term relationship with a man, get married an have kids? NOW, at 66, she wants what she missed out on due to her liberal beliefs? She’s gonna screw that kid up with her messed up values. That’s the problem.

Why isnt anyone commenting of the fact that even if you are my age (24) I could die any day now and my kids wouldnt have a mother either. There is no “you will die at this age so go ahead and have kids” or “dont have kids because you only have 2 yrs. 4 months, and 9 days till you die”. If she wants to have that child and has planned for a child and is financially stable enough to raise it then she is doing better than I am with my 3 kids, livin at my moms, with no money. History tells us that women of all nations always had babies till they were able to sustain themselves. Also because contraception did not exist or was flimsy.

It’s very possible that this woman has in mind that something could happen to her and has made the necessary arangements. However I don’t think she is in very bad shape because she isn’t walking around with a cane or walker. Why not, if you were 66 and wanted a child but then decided not to because of your age. If you did that and then wound up living to 100 years old still functioning you might have regrets because you could have had a child.

After a certain age, like 45 oldest, should not be giving any fertility drugs.
Can only hope that there will laws with limitations that will prevent people of a certain age, or financial issues will be denied these drugs. No more octomoms~
