For me it was my microwave steriliser. I spent the first 2 months washing in cold water steriliser, and really did my hands in.
Another item I loved was my Baby sleeping bag/Grobag. Once baby is 6 weeks or so they start to kick off the covers, but this stops that from happening. In the end my daughter had trouble sleeping without hers, as she did not feel as snug, so my Mum had to make a summer weight one for her.
agree with the sleeping bags. I also liked the baby seat like this:

I got a "Jane" one 2nd hand and its great for baby’s daytime sleeps. Mine isnt a battery-one but thats fine as I dont want a baby who needs to be rocked/buzzed to sleep. Its totally lie-flat so great from new-born then will be good when starting to feed them at 6 months old as it props up as well.

wipes!

Has to be by monitor, so I can pop him asleep up in his cot but still listen out for him when I’m outside hanging the washing out or digging in the garden.

I was the other way round – the cold water steriliser was ideal for me as it meant I could sterilise 6 bottles at a time. With the steam steriliser the bottle only kept for three hours once it’s opened – so I was doing bottle 3 times a day!!

Yeah, Grobags are GREAT!!! I have them in all 3 togs for my baby and even my 3 year old sleeps in one!!! But I also love my fisher price papasan cradle swing. With a very unsettled newborn it was a lifesaver, as he went from screaming to asleep in 2 minutes!! He is now 7 1/2 months and still loves it, but now just to sit and play in, not sleep.

I would bin the monitor, that piece of equipment turned me into nutter mum. I liked the steam steriliser and gro bags. Next time around I am ditching the monitor and maybe the bottlewarmer.

A stroller. My baby needs it. He just like people pushing in around rather than carrying him. We also don’t why, maybe he just too lazy.. But afterall, he just a small little baby. And we love him.

It was a bottle warmer that heated up water and you put the bottle in and with in no time it was ready really was good.

Today’s disposable nappy and wipes. Women are so luck today.
When I had my third child in early 70s…I was ecstatically overjoyed that they had invented the ‘Paddy Pads’ The very first disposable nappy. It was an oblong shaped pad made from cotton wool. One would use them with oblong shape plastic pants which had press-studs fasteners at the sides. They were great, but did leak at times.

Not had my baby yet, but imagine the monitor will be something I cant do without. Live in quite a big house, and without it i’ll be shushing people every 5 minutes to check for crying noise or something!

the Jolly Jumper! the portable one that has it’s own frame. You can set it up in whatever room you happen to be in. takes up very little storage space because it folds flat. and keeps baby occupied while you get house work done. my daughter loves it. she cries when i take her out of it.
