My baby is almost 7 months what toys should he be playing with?

Posted at March 2nd, 2009 by admin

To help stimulate him so he doesnt get bored and to help him. He only has young baby toys, ratttles, soft book, high chair toys, baby gyms, doughnuts does he need any musical toys or flashing light toys or talking toys?

Anything that lights up and makes noises. I find the Fisher Price toys are brilliant. They are educational as well as interactive.
I would also suggest getting some balls – different colours and sizes. When my son started crawling he loved chasing them around the house.

    pictures – big pictures

TV is very important…to get em to interact – but dont let them become too reliante

the best way though is to keep talking to them…keep them informed in a way….they do pick things up at such an early age..

He is exploring his world and growing in a lot of different directions. At seven months, just let him discover things like feeding himself, Strengthening his muscles and learning to talk.
You sound like you are competative about this baby care. Let the child grow with you by his side with encouragement not hoovering overhead and how can I do more more more. All kids develop at different rates.

for TV I highly recomend Your Baby Can Read, my son is a bit older but we started him on it a little late too at 1 1/2 and he is 2 now he can read a few words (he didn’t watch it every day for awhile since I tried going back to work… quite after 2 months though b/c i missed my baby) he also when he watches it, it is like his brain is little sponge and he just seems to pick up things fast! I was so anti tv when i was prego but atleast with that it’s not just the box saying it makes them smarter I’ve seen it in my son, also check ebay for it you can get it cheaper and even though you don’t get flash cards you can make your own.

other toys… is he crawling well? my son had a ball, not sure who makes it, but it plays music lights up and rolls a little, helps encourage crawling, but my son loved it then and still does, even though it got taken away b/c he can’t remember not to throw the hard ball at mommy!

I think toys that light up and play music are important at that age, also though tons of interaction is still important!

Have Fun With Your Little One! They Grow Up So Fast!

Buy him some toy with buttons so that when he presses the buttons, he hears some kind of noise. Can have animal faces on it and he can hear how the animals sound, or there can be music too.
Buy him a box that contains big rectangles, triangles, squares, circles etc. Let him try to put the objects inside from the appropriate holes .
Buy him a set of cups of different colours so that he can put each inside the other or make a tower.
You should play with him or some other loving person like a grandma, sister, aunt, nanny whatever should play with him. That's what will stimulate him most.

my daughter will be 8months on 29th of oct and health visitors told me that to make play all about floor play..sitting on the floor (i use changing mat for her to sit on) and palying with a variety of toys so that they will begin to move for certain toys which will encourage them to become more mobile…also my daughter has rattles..a play gym thats also a piano that plays sounds and flashes when she touches them and he sounds encourage her to touch thmem becasue she knows when she does then they toy will do something..as long as your baby has a variety of stimulation toys he'll be fine :D

My daughter also loves watching tha Backyardigans on nick jr..only watches this twice a day as I don't let her have 2 much tv time but this programme is great…she absolutely loves it she babbels along and claps her hands and gets really excited when it comes on..she also copies people on the tv when they clap and the other day monkey world was on and the chimps were screeching and she started to scream and make noises back at the tv lol!!!
