Looking for the best infant toys for development from newborn to 1 year- Any suggestions??

Posted at October 31st, 2008 by admin

My baby girl is almost 2 months – i need something to occupy her later on – some kind of activity play center toy – something great with lights and music _ I've been window shopping and dont see much that i like – What do you parents out there recommend -What toys does your baby like??
What about activity mats or something that will promote sitting up and crawling??
And also looking for toys I can attatch to her swing (since her swing does not play music or have lights- a toy with light & music thats attatchble – where can I find one??

My kids LOVED the peek-a-boo blocks from Fisher Price. It is also good for development for them to learn how to put things in and take things out. They have a shape sorter from peek-a-boo blocks. It has different shapes and each block has something new inside. There are SO many different accessories that you can get with the Peek-a-boo blocks. toysrus.com has a great way to select that type of thing. You select the age, and then you select the type of toys. You want to find cause and effect toys, early development, and sights and sounds. You can look at all those categories there, or just type whatever type of toy into a search engine and it should pull up some options.

kids are so funny. you never really know what they are going to be in to. my son has a wide variety of toys. but yet he only plays with my printer, the tv, dvd player, stereo, my pots and pans – i'm mean the list goes on and on. what he doesnt play with are his toys! well anyway let me say leapfrog is my favorite. also fisher price. and at two months all they really need is a rattle. if you look at the fisher price toys, they tell you what age like 3+ mos. you should go to their website. but you have to be very cautious with toys. sign up for the recall list:

you wouldnt believe how many of my kids things i've found on there.

I found that my son really loves the Leap Frog toys. There are tons of them out there like a Learning table that has blocks, piano, things to open and close. Also he likes the one that is a frog and has shapes for buttons and they play songs and light up. He learned his shapes and colors with that one and he is now 3 1/2 and still plays with them. They are great developmental tools. Some other things to consider are things around the house. Just a plain old box or bowls that she could stack work too. Go through your items in the kitchen and find the ones that you don't use and that she can have. Like old utinsels (make sure they are safe) and measuring cups that you don't use. They will teach her to play her own music.

my baby is five months old and has a gym that can be converted into a keyboard. it is very entertaining to her. anything with rattles usually work when they are three months or older. a soft toy with rattle is always fun. carter's makes a great stuffy with all sorts of noisy things to entertain a baby. i also recommend a nursery rhyme CD player. my baby likes music
