If you had somehow raised yourself from infancy, isolated from everyone else?

Do you think the idea of a "god", would have occurred to you?

It’s a tough call. Hominids and perhaps other primates seem to have had ritual/religious behaviors for quite some time. This is probably due to the capability to give meaning to symbols or events.

I’d guess that thinking that there is a greater meaning is a necessary evil to being able to think abstractly.

no, the idea of anyone other than yourself would never occur either.

you only know of what you have experienced or taught, everything else is a variation on what you already know.

It has occurred to every human population that has ever existed, no matter how isolated or primitive.

Probably, because im sure it occured to the person who made it up originally. It would start with asking questions, and when you don’t find immediate answers to those questions, then you want to fill it with a void. And that filler is god. He is The Filler. That should be his name.

Probably not, but I can’t say for sure having never been in that situation.
I suppose if I was that isolated the idea of other people wouldn’t have occurred to me either…

Yes, clearly. You may not call him God per se, but you would eventually contemplate creation and arrive at this conclusion.

No. You would have grown up in the wild state of evolution a human would stay in without Divine intervention from either God Himself or through being taught His laws and commandments meant for the human race from another human who knows them.

Feral children become mentally incompetent of such thoughts.

Without being taught, humans act and think exactly as animals: everything is instinct.

Humans, like all other primates, rely on being taught things to properly survive.
