Hi..My friend is …
Thank you for this amazing tutorial. my next project is the baby booties..:)
Hi..My friend is pregnant and I crocheted this beanie just now for her baby. It has come out beautifully.
This is where gauge …
This is where gauge plays a role. You crochet at least a 4×4 inch swatch. The swatch will tell you how many stitches are made for that yarn and crochet hook. You will need to have a basic understanding of increasing to modify. This means you may have more stitches in a round than the original pattern to compensate for the smaller yarn or smaller crochet hook.
Hi,
was just …
Hi,
was just wondering how you would adjust this pattern for different yarn and crochet hooks but still get it to fit the same sized baby
I used a 5MM …
I used a 5MM aluminum crochet hook so that will explain why you hat came out small.
I used a 4mm size …
I used a 4mm size hook.and after adding
those rnds i’ve got an extra brim, which makes it look like a hat.
thanks for ur response.
i used size 9 steel …
i used size 9 steel hook.
What size crochet …
What size crochet hook are you using?
ya as i told u i …
ya as i told u i was on the 22nd rnd, now the increase is by just half an inch for 3 rnds. now my cap size is just 9 inches.i feel the cap is going out of shape…it was 8.5 inches till 22 rnds now its increasing.what am doing is right? confused whether to continue.
Is the cap …
Is the cap expanding and getting larger?

thanks 4 ur response.i did 3more rnds as u’d suggested.shud i continue in the same manner ?
With some …
With some modification. You would not do as many rounds with increases and modify the hat size for a premie.
You would need to …
You would need to add 2 increases evenly on your new round for the cap to increase. You can try 1 single in each of the next 3 and the two in the same stitch.
hi i’m a new …
hi i’m a new crocheter.being inspired by ur videos i;ve made a basket, bingobag, baby bootie. it all turned out fine,am trying this baby beanie.i used a different hook and added 2 more rnds to increase the size now i’ve made 22 rnds and ended up with a relatively small cap. is there any alternative 2 increase the size at this point or just do a new one.
thanks 4 all ur videos.
would i be able to …
would i be able to make this hat to fit a newborn preemie?
The hat would be …
The hat would be made for the size of their head. I have used a size H hook for a 15″ hat and a size I hook for an 18″ hat. You could try using a size J hook and possible come up with something to fit their head. You will need to crochet additional rounds for a longer length.
Using a different …
Using a different yarn will result in a different size. Most likely you could have a different size anyway with your crochet style and tension.
also, how would the …
also, how would the end result differ if i use a diffrent type of string
(one thats not too thin but the type i want for the beanie {lightweight cotton yarn} (i dont want to use the 4 ply worsted yarn because its kinda furry, which i dont want))
Im just learning …
Im just learning how to crochet and am using your other videos to learn how to do all teh terms you mention throught the video. can i follow the instructions you are giving here but with a diffrent sized hook to make the striped beanie for a 4-6 year old’s head… if so, what size hook should i use or changes should i make when following your instructions, or will it not work at all?
It will depend on …
It will depend on the size of the head of the 1 year old. I recently crochet this pattern with a size I/5.5mm crochet hook, 4 ply yarn and made a cap that would fit an 18″ head.
if i use a size J …
if i use a size J hook and 4 ply baby yarn will this fit a 1 year old boy?
ok… I am using a …
ok… I am using a 7.00mm hook and 8 ply yarn. do you think that will fit a one year old if i do all 22 rows?
This one will fit a …
This one will fit a 6 month old. If you use a larger hook like an I or J size hook, the cap will fit a larger head.
Will this fit a one …
Will this fit a one year old boy?
Sit across from …
Sit across from your Grandma. I did that with my Aunty and I learn just find. She was a lefty and me a righty.
