Imagine those great feelings of being reunited with them, nothing will ever explain how that made him/her feel. After regaining that sense of security, trust and love you turn around and they have abandonned you again. At this point you feel betrayed and have to face those heartbroken feelings for a couple hours until you are reunited with your only family that you have created and have to question whether or not you will see them again for the rest of your life.

After a couple of days you are forced to face the reality of being the only person in your life that you know exists. Not the greatest feeling right there, but after a few years you are living your differently adapted life and randomely during the day you hear your father/mothers voice calling out for you. Upon searching for the location where the voice is coming from you spot him in the distance.

I totally agree with you on that, there is a really strong relationship there and he definately just made a big impact on the gorillas life. Now just imagine that you as a child were raised by your father/mother and they were the only family member that you knew existed. Your only relationship in life is getting stronger every day for the next 10 years, everything is great and then randomely he/she abandons you.

Whatever the relationship, it is overwhemly strong for the gorilla and his heart is probably broken right now. Personally, I would feel an obligation to spend a consistant amount of time w/ him at least once a month.

It is such a moving …
It is such a moving story and touched my heart, but he should not have gone back on so many levels. The most important being the disruption and impact on the lives of this gorilla and his band. There was clearly a deep connection between the man and gorilla. The utter joy and comfort experienced by both may have a longer emotional impact on the Gorilla and not in a positive way. I “get it”, but I do not agree with the re-union!

As a dog trainer I see how we Humans, give “animals” so little credit for their ability to love, communicate and feel. I say this video shows that the Gorilla is capable of all three. If an animal can learn ‘human”, why can’t we learn”animal”? Who’s the smart one?
