What are some reasons video games really ARENT as bad as theyre said/thought to be? :)?

Im writing a fake editorial on Teenagers/Adolescents and their involvement with video games.

I need some reasons why they really arent as bad as they seem to be. I only have about two more paragraphys to write, so some good pros or something would be useful :)

Thanks lol =)

You have to start with assumptions about why they are said to be bad, and who said them. You’ve made this an open-ended question. I would focus on the positive effects of playing video games — improved reflexes and focus, for instance. Plus, a recent study shows that video game players are more physically fit than non-players, although no one yet knows why. The armed forces all use video game simulators for preparing soldiers for combat — especially pilots and tank commanders — so there is clearly some good to be found in them (unless you hate the military). As far as teenagers are concerned, if you are at home on video, you aren’t out partying. That’s a good thing.

    They stimulate the mind
They let you take stress out on a computer program
Some do actually teach you things

Some games teach you to read because game charaters communicate in text instead of voice.

They teach you to solve things because alot of games require you to solve puzzles and other thing to preceed through the game. I had a terrible time reading things when I was young, but ever since I started playing video games, my reading is perfect.

They are just a lot of fun.
